While on vacation I have been getting my workouts in outside! Even the videos I put the dvd on the computer and enjoyed the gorgeous weather while working out. Only complaint I have is the dang mosquitos, ouch! So while working out I came up with this delicious idea, a Smore Protein Shake!!
Smore Protein Shake
Makes 1 serving
1c almond milk (used So Delicious Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk Plus)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (used Vega Sport Performance Protein, Vanilla)
1/4-1/2 Vega Maca Chocolate Bar, or sweet cacao nibs
1/2-1 frozen banana and or ice
1-2 smashed Cinnamon Buckwheat Graham Crackers (had them left over from our Roasted Banana Campfire Smores), if you don’t want to add these add Mesquite Powder and Coconut Palm Sugar to get the graham flavor
*If you want a marshmallow taste you can add some marshmallow extract, I didn’t have any with.
In a Vitamix or high-speed blender blend together almond milk, protein powder (Vega), and Maca Chocolate or chocolate of choice. Once blended add your banana and or ice. Pour into a glass and top with Cinnamon Buckwheat Graham Crackers, or if you would like you can blend these into your shake. If not using graham crackers add your mesquite and coconut palm sugar. Enjoy!
