Strawberry Striped Green Monster Smoothie

This is another smoothie my girls came up with, name and all, and I had to join in the fun by making one for myself but adding a couple of things!

Makes 2 small or 1 big

1 frozen banana

1c almond milk, or non dairy milk of choice (used So Delicious Almond Milk Plus)

2 big handfuls of spinach, or kale

1 1/2c sliced fresh strawberries

My version I added the following to the above recipe.

1 scoop protein powder (Vega One Nautral)

1/2tsp wheatgrass powder, optional (Navitas Naturals Wheatgrass Powder)

1tsp gelatinized maca powder, optional (Navitas Naturals Gelatinized Maca Powder)

In a Vitamix or high-speed blender puree strawberries. Pour strawberry puree down the sides of the glass in stripes, pour remaining strawberry into the bottom of glass/glasses, and place glass/glasses in the freezer. Putting the glass in the freezer is not required but it will make prettier stripes, I have made it with and without placing it in the freezer. Rinse Vitamix/blender out and add almond milk, spinach, banana, and optional protein powder and additions if adding them, and blend until smooth. Pour smoothie into glass/glasses, the green smoothie will push the strawberry up the bottom of the glass like shown as it is not frozen, and garnish with an optional strawberry. Enjoy!

Mine isn’t really striped but still very interesting looking!

As a Vega Recipe Ambassador I receive Vega products, which I used as an option in this recipe. I use Vega not because it is given to me but because it has been my plant-based protein of choice since before I started blogging and some recipes are made with Vega products I purchase. I only write about foods I love, my blog is an extension of my hobby to make fun healthy food creations for me and my family.
