Oh yes and I this just screams to get a little crazier!
So I got a little confession and question because I know I can’t be the only one out there that does this. So I often throw smoothies or smoothie bowls together for me or the family and make dare I even say it…. too much. I know is there such a thing, trust me there is because we recently started running into this “problem”. Or it’s when I ask the girls if they want a “xyz” smoothie and they both say yes or I ask them what they want and don’t hear them over my Vitamix and one will be all upset because she wanted something else. Tell me I’m not the only one with this “problem” or who does this. So I will put these extras in the freezer. Yep if there’s a “problem” yo I’ll solve it, check out the hook while this mama revolves it! Haha yes I just dropped the Vanilla Ice and dated myself but I couldn’t help it. So if there is just little they go into the same one and layer together over the days and then I eat it. Or sometimes I make combos I know one of us will eat the next day or I can blend with one I’m making in the next day or two. Well some of these mixes are not only beautiful but taste amazing! So with that I actually set out to make a crazy combo like those in my freezer that just seemed to happen magically overnight.
With that and my crazy corny mood I also thought I was being slick and told the girls there was a Tropical Kale Storm (Smoothie Bowl) headed their way and well my oldest told me I was cheesy. Yep I guess she’s gotten to that age where I’m no longer funny and just need to keep my cheesiness to myself. While my name wasn’t “cool” the actual smoothie bowl was “awesome” and got thumbs up and smiles! Packed with lots of nutrients this is a great smoothie bowl for breakfast or larger snack/lunch if you are like us in the summer breaking out meals a little different with our crazy busy schedule. Depending on when I’m making it I like to add protein and sometimes superfoods to mine. You can easily customize yours with protein and or supplements to fit your needs. This smoothie bowl is actually really easy to make as you can start with the lightest color, Turmeric Smoothie Layer you can just quickly rinse the Vitamix if needed between layers and do the Acai Smoothie Layer last. You also don’t have to layer them you can put them in a bowl however you want, which can be fun when it looks like splatter paint or art! Of course than there is the toppings!
Tropical Kale Storm Smoothie Bowl
2 servings, or can be made into 3-4 smaller servings
Turmeric Smoothie Layer
1c turmeric milk (REBBL Turmeric Golden Milk or homemade)
1c frozen pineapple
1/2 frozen banana
Green Smoothie Layer
1/2-1 frozen avocado, or you can use a whole fresh avocado or less liquid (peel and pit removed before freezing/blending)
1c frozen mango chunks
large handful kale, fresh or frozen
1c orange juice or coconut milk
Pitaya Smoothie Layer
1 pitaya packet (Pitaya Plus)
1/2 frozen banana
1/2c frozen strawberries
1c coconut milk, or non dairy milk of choice (So Delicious Unsweetened Vanilla Coconut Milk)
Acai Smoothie Layer
1 frozen acai packet (Sambazon Acai Packet)
1/2 frozen banana
1/2c frozen blueberries
1c coconut milk, or non dairy milk of choice (So Delicious Unsweetened Vanilla Coconut Milk)
Optional: Add a protein (I like Vega) to any of the layers. I like to add it to the darkest layer usually if there is a chance it will change the color. Top with toppings of choice, I used a GoMacro Thrive Caramel Coconut Ancient Seeds Superfood Nut Bar I broke up.
In a Vitamix, or high-speed blender, blend together the Turmeric Smoothie Layer (or first layer you are making) ingredients using the tamper tool as needed until smooth. Pour into bowls or jars. Rinse Vitamix and move on to the next layer, continuing until you have blended all the layers. Top with optional toppings of choice. Enjoy!

Like it, PIN it for later!
While I do receive some Vega products from time to time, which I listed as an option in this recipe, I do purchase much of it on my own. It has been my plant-based protein of choice since before I started blogging. I do not make any money off any Vega sales or posts. I only write about foods I love, my blog is an extension of my hobby to make fun healthy food creations for me and my family.

This is such an amazing smoothie tower Sarah! I love eating smoothies with a spoon and this one looks perfect. My confession is that I have a bad habit of eating everything I’ve been served. I’d never have leftover smoothie, I’d just somehow down it all!

Thank you Alisa! The thicker the better and it feels like dessert or a treat when you eat it with a spoon I think. Sounds like my husband! I don’t have smoothie leftovers either except for the girls or when we’re making multiple smoothies at the same time or lots of recipe creation or making them for photographing.

This is seriously almost too pretty to drink! Layered smoothies, although a little more labour-intensive, are seriously the best!!
