It is no secret I love coffee, well maybe you didn’t know if you are haven’t read my blog before but you can scroll through and find lots of coffee recipes if you are a fellow coffee lover. I have been on the hunt for Navitas Naturals Green Coffee Powder since I heard it was coming out. It came out but wasn’t on Amazon Prime or Vitacost, the two places I order a lot of my supplements and health foods from that I can’t find at Whole Foods or locally. My local Whole Foods didn’t have it and kept hoping. One day out of the blue I walked in and was strolling down the health isles to pick up some Vega for my husband for his marathon training (I think he now loves it as much as I do!) and I looked at the other side of the isle to see if my Maca Maple Cashews were in stock yet, as I have been requesting them. Nope no cashews but what did I see a pretty green bag of Navitas Naturals Green Coffee Powder!!! Yippy! Yep I think half the store heard about how excited I was! The rest of the store was made aware of my presence after I got my So Delicious Cashew Ice Cream! So I had to run home and instantly the ideas were flowing. There are two versions of this Mocha To The Max Protein Shake, one with Sweet Spreads CocoNutter Chocolate Brownie Coconut Butter and Mocha Vega One topped with So Delicious Coco Whip Lite and more Chocolate Brownie CocoNutter and the other with Wild Friends Vanilla Espresso Almond Butter with Vega Mocha Performance Protein topped with cacao nibs. Both with green coffee powder and 2 shots of espresso! While it sounds like this shake would give you a buzz it really doesn’t, well at least not for myself. It really isn’t any different than having a latte or cappuccino and I get more of a jittery buzz feeling from a flavored latte or mocha packed with sugar. It is packed with superfoods and lots of nutrients that aren’t in that sugary mocha coffee house drink so not only is it delicious but good for you. Weather you are looking for an coffee packed shake to start your day, a mid afternoon treat, or a post workout shake this shake might be just what you need!

Have you ever tried green coffee powder? If not you may want to check out it’s nutritional profile and benefits! It is a energizing and antioxidant-rich superfood that has been used for centuries to boost energy, support metabolism and aid digestion. It is rich in fiber and a healthy source of chlorogenic acid (CGA), the powerful antioxidant linked to many of coffee’s health benefits. As far as caffeine it only contains about the amount found in a serving of green tea.

Linking up with fellow bloggers for Meatless Monday, find some more great creations here!

The Vega One Mocha is only available at Whole Foods in the US, where I purchased it, it is available at more retailers and online in Canada.

While I do receive some Vega products from time to time, which I listed as an option in this recipe, I do purchase much of it on my own. It has been my plant-based protein of choice since before I started blogging. Even though most Vega products used are purchased by myself I do add this disclaimer. I do not make any money off any Vega sales or posts. I only write about foods I love, my blog is an extension of my hobby to make fun healthy food creations for me and my family.
