Sit back, relax, and enjoy your coffee on this cold snowy day!
I am enjoying one of my favorite protein shakes, made with espresso, as I sit here trying to figure out what my first posts should be.
1 Scoop Vega One French Vanilla (Chocolate for mocha, or another protein powder of choice)
1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk (Used Silk brand) Or other milk of choice
About 1 Cup Ice
2 Shots of Espresso (I love espresso! You could also try using some strong coffee )
1/2 tsp Maca (optional)
Brew espresso or coffee and put in ice cube trays or if it happens to be winter where you are and cold outside you can do what I did and put it outside for a couple of minutes to chill.
Blend almond milk, Vega One, and ice in a blender.
Sometimes I will stop at this point and pour the espresso over the top Affogato style. If I do this I make sure it is pretty thick adding a little more ice or put it in the freezer or outside and blend again. Another option is to have almond milk or other milk of choice in ice cube trays ahead of time in place of ice cubes.
Add chilled espresso and then blended again. If your espresso is already chilled you can add it with the other ingredients and blend all together. Enjoy!
