Banana Bread Power Balls
Banana Bread Power Balls

I made these for a pre workout snack. I have a couple pre workout snacks that are my go tos and this was a combination of them put together, minus coconut oil which is in a couple of them.

Banana Bread Power Balls

Makes 16 large balls, can be made to any size

1/2c flax seed

1/4c chia seeds

1/4c savi seeds, sacha inchi seeds (used Vega Oh Natural Savi Seeds)

1/4c cashews

1 extra small- small banana*

3/4c dates

2tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg

pinch of sea salt

1/2c oats, gluten free*, may not need see note below

*I have made these a couple of times and if the banana is too big they will be really soft and hard to roll into balls. My work around for this is I use whatever I have for banana, or will use 1/2-3/4 of a large banana. If when I go to roll them the mixture is too soft I blend in oats a little at a time until I get the consistency I want. Alternatively you could add more flax, nuts, seeds, ect to also reach consistancy. In the balls shown I used a medium banana and used 1/2 of a cup of oats.

You can just throw everything together in a food processor and process until the mixture comes together but for my pre workout balls I don’t like a lot of texture so I start by processing the flax seeds, chia seeds, savi seeds, and cashews together until almost a flour texture. I pulse in the nutmeg, sea salt, and cinnamon. I add my dates, rough chop before hand, and process until everything is well mixed and dates are to a crumble. I add in my banana and process until just combined. If the mixture is wet and soft I add in my oats a couple of tablespoons at a time until I get to the consistancy I want. Roll into balls, I made 16 they were on the larger size, you can make yours any size you want. Store balls in the refridgerator or freezer, I store mine in the freezer and pop them out when I want them. Enjoy!
